Requirements
Deliverable D4.1 provides
all the required information for running the Lab@Future platform. See here (à mettre
à jour) the last version of the deliverable which will be regularly updated. Required configuration for running the platform:
Vic
(optional) Downloading the vic (video tool) client tool (Copyright (C) 1995-2001
University College London, UK All rights reserved). This module, written in C, is seen as an
alternative to the Jvisio/RTP video conferencing of the platform, and
comparison between these two video conferencing tools will be addressed in
Deliverable D4.1. Downloading and installation, if required, has to be made
before accessing the Evaluation Prototype. Use the default installation procedure
(c:\Program Files\Mbone\vic.exe) To download and install vic Version 2.8ucl-1.1.3 for ipv4 click here. Rat
(optional) Downloading the rat (robust audio tool) client tool (Copyright (C) 1995-2001

(optional) Downloading the Application Sharing Server (this module is based on the VNC
Server developed by ATT). This module, written in C, has to be downloaded and
correctly installed only by the person in charge of the management of the Application Sharing
Server. Clients of the Application Sharing Service are not supposed to
download and install this server on their machine. Downloading and
installation, if required, has to be made before accessing the Evaluation

Prototype, click here. Available sessions
Two
sessions are available to have a look to our environment. They are
defined under the experiment CSCL and they are named: cscl05_France and
cscl05_Japan. For both,
the password is cscl05. Those
sessions are always available in their asynchronous part, and cscl05_France
is also available in their synchronous part. Those two
sessions use videoconference and audioconference , chat and whiteboard tools. Reflector Module

You have to enter the right local and distant addresses (@IP) ·
Be carefull for ports numbers : ·
Local port is the first port number used by visioconference ·
A lot of ports are used by the reflector (local port) to local port+4
and (distant port) to (distant port + 4) ·
No test on starting for JRE and JMF versions Standalone JVisio

JVisio is started with your own @IP address: you have to change it ·
This version uses IPv4 addresses ·
This current version uses vfw video devices (some trouble with v4l) ·
Default ports for exchange audio and video streams are from 14500 to
14503: you can change, but inform your “videoconferencer” ·
