Photonics
                                                                    Version française
Applications in photonics involving III-V semiconductors are in a rapid and constant
progress since a few years. This evolution originates from the numerous advantages that
offer this technology: extended wavelength operating range, unique performances
(multiple wavelength, high bit rate, …), compatible integration with microelectronic
circuits and MOEMS (mechanical optical electronic microsystems).

These new demands imply extensive research efforts on the fabrication and development of materials, devices and systems, in order to strength the role of photonics in its established fields of competence (in particular communications) and/or to access new application domains. It leads to the growth of technologies for innovative devices or integration of optoelectronic components within hybrid systems. It finally needs thinking out the nature and architecture of systems with significant optoelectronic contribution.
In this context, our studies are focused on the design and processing
of optoelectronic devices using prospective materials or physical effects
and/or offering new functionalities.
